A recent AHR Expo survey sent to more than 1,000 HVACR manufacturers worldwide indicates that the industry has a positive outlook on 2013. 70 percent of those who responded expect the worldwide economy in 2013 to be better than 2012. In fact, 15 percent expect a “much better year.”
According to 86 percent of HVACR manufacturers, sales will increase next year. 35 percent expect sales increases of more than 10 percent, followed by 32 percent forecasting increases of between 5 and 10 percent. Only 11 percent of respondents expect sales to remain the same and 3 percent expect a decrease. What accounts for this optimism? Manufacturers expect the greatest demand for new products will come from the health care segment, with industrial, educational and governmental markets not far behind.
The organizations surveyed plan to meet this increased demand by introducing new products and services in 2013. Increased interest in sustainable energy and renewable energy sources is helping drive manufacturers to increased energy efficiency and exploration of solar products.
The 2013 AHR Expo is expected to feature more than 1,800 manufacturers and suppliers from around the world. Many of them will showcase innovative new products to attract the attention of growing market segments concerned with energy efficiency.
